Phoenix rope alone is not fire-proof and needs to be spliced to technora. So we created our special invention called “VersaTether” (a tether ideal for fire, led or practice). Technora is an aramid completely fireproof rope - only available in grey - starts out smooth, but with use can “dread” and feel rougher. Most spinners prefer the versa-tether because it is so smooth. If you’re on a budget the Technora is good too but would suggest replacing after it shows wear.
